My “ALL DRESSED UP” series draws from my career as a textile designer. What started as a simple button at the collar of a vase has evolved into endless possibilities of “dressing up” or “fastening down” clay. I continue to explore designing the “fabric” on the surface using colored clay. Starting with the fabric, I then dress up the vessel using clay zippers, snaps, belts and other accessories. They are then fired in an electric kiln. You may consider my pieces as “haute couture” or “ready ware” stoneware since all pieces are one-of-a-kind.
